Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR announces the appointment of a new Board of Directors
Barbara Poggiali elected Chairman
Davide Bertone elected CEO
Milan, May 23d, 2022 – The Shareholders of Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR at the Annual General Meeting appointed the new Board of Directors, serving a three-year term.
The new BoD includes Barbara Poggiali, the Chairman; Davide Bertone, who will assume the position of CEO at the first Board meeting; Ilaria Bertizzolo; Gianluca Brancadoro; Enrico Canu; Esedra Chiacchella; Ines Gandini; Gaia Ghirardi; Massimiliano Mastalia; Nicoletta Montella; Giorgio Piazza; Domenico Pimpinella; and Giovanni Sabatini.
The shareholders also appointed the members of the Board of Statutory Auditors, now consisting of Luigi Corsi (Chairman); Massimo De Angelis (Standing Auditor); Carlotta Mugnai (Standing Auditor); Francesca Monti (Alternate Auditor); and Nicoletta Paracchini (Alternate Auditor).
Davide Bertone, the newly appointed CEO, stated: “I am thrilled to take the lead of FII SGR, and I thank both the Chairman and the Board for the trust placed in me. The ecosystem of private capital solutions is an essential element for the development of Italian medium-sized enterprises. FII has an institutional role as well as fundamental skills to put in place for the development and strengthening of the players and instruments that make it up. Barbara Poggiali, after a degree and a PhD in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), started her career at McKinsey & Company and then moved to Bain. Ever since 1995, she has held senior roles at Omnitel (now Vodafone Italy), e-Biscom (now Fastweb) and Cable and Wireless Plc. From 2004 to 2011 she was Chief Development Officer of RCS MediaGroup where, in 2009, she also took on the position of CEO of Dada. From 2014 she was Strategic Marketing Director of Poste Italiane and Chairman of PosteMobile and, between 2019 and 2020, Managing Director of Leonardo's Cybersecurity Division.
Davide Bertone, who holds a degree in Economics from the University of Turin, comes from Mediobanca where, over a period of twenty years, he held positions of increasing responsibility until serving, from 2019 to the present, as Co-Head of Mid-Corporates and Financial Sponsor Solutions. Previously, from 1998 to 2002, he worked for Fiat Group (now Stellantis), until assuming the position of CFO of Fiat Auto Argentina SA.

Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR
Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR (“Fondo Italiano” or “FII SGR”) was created in 2010 on the initiative of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and its shareholders include CDP Equity, Intesa Sanpaolo, UniCredit, Fondazione ENPAM, Fondazione ENPAIA, ABI, Banco BPM and BPER Banca.
