Priority investment sectors

The Fund will prefer investments in companies operating in the following sectors and value chains of Italian industry, with the possibility of expanding into other sectors and value chains of excellence provided that there is an opportunity to pursue at least one of the investment themes of the Fund in the invested companies, such as: the buy-and-build philosophy; international expansion; technological innovation; digitalization of processes and business models; social and environmental sustainability.

Gianpaolo Di Dio is Chief Investment Officer and Senior Partner of Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, that he joined in October 2010. Previously, he worked in turnaround as CEO of Arcotronics and Executive Chairman of Netscalibur Italia. Previously, he was co-founder and General Partner of TLcom Capital LLP, a UK-based VC fund, in JV with Morgan Stanley, where he made several investments in ICT sectors in Europe and Israel. Prior to TLcom, he was Senior Manager at Bain&Co, focusing on TMT sectors in Europe and Silicon Valley. He started his career as a Financial Analyst at Abbott. Gianpaolo graduated with honors in Economics from LUISS, where he also holds an MBA.

Gesualdo Di Bernardo is a Senior Partner at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR since January 2018. He started his career at The Boston Consulting Group in 1995. In 1999 he joined The Carlyle Group as a Director, where he was involved in several Private Equity transactions, in Italy and abroad. From 2012 to 2015 he served as CEO of the womenswear company Liviana Conti and in the meantime as Board member of Twin Set Simona Barbieri. In 2016 he joined Xenon Private Equity Partners, where he worked as a Partner. Gesualdo graduated with honours in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa in 1994 and in 1998 he obtained an MBA from INSEAD.

Marzia Bartolomei Corsi has been Senior Partner at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, that she joined in July 2020. She started her carrier in 2001 at Arthur Andersen (then Deloitte) where she took part in consultancy projects for some of the main Italian banks. In 2003 she joined Kairos Partners SGR within the private equity team, where, as Associate, she has been involved in the acquisition of small-medium companies across different industrial sectors. In 2006 she took part to the spin-off of the private equity division from Kairos Partners into Consilium SGR. At Consilium, first as Investment Manager and then as Partner, she took part to various buy-out and development capital transactions targeting Italian companies with a turnover ranging from 20 to 100 million euros. Marzia graduated with honours in Economics at the University of Bologna in 2001.

Filippo Monti is a Partner at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, that he joined in July 2012. From 2007 to 2012 he served as a manager in the Merger & Acquisitions division of Tamburi Investment Partners SpA During that period of time he concluded, as financial advisor, several acquisitions and divestitures of Italian SMEs in various industrial sectors. From 2004 to the beginning of 2007, he worked as member of the Transaction Services team of KPMG Advisory SpA where he followed transactions on behalf of financial and industrial investors. Filippo graduated with a first class degree in Business Economics from the Catholic University in Milan.

Guido Figliola is Partner at Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR, that he joined in May 2012. During his professional experience in FII, he has been involved in various transactions in different sectors, such as precision components for energy and biomedical industries, shipbuilding, automotive components, security and facility management. Previously he worked as analyst in the M&A and advisory division of one of of the main Italian bank supporting the team in some acquisitions and divestitures of Italian SMEs. He started his career working as an advisor in Deloitte and in the Business Strategy division of Telecom Italia. He is a Chartered Accountant since 2014. Guido graduated in Business Economics and Legislation at Bocconi University in Milan.

Pamela graduated with honours in Business Economics and in Administration, Finance and Control from the Roma Tre University in Rome.

Marco Cecconi is Senior Investment Manager at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, where he joined in November 2021. Before joining the team of Fondo Italiano, he was responsible for investment activities at Cellularline, a company listed on the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange. He currently holds the position of director at WorldConnect and Coverlab. Previously, he collaborated with the promoters of the SPAC Crescita in the scouting and execution of the business combination. Marco started his career in the investment banking team of two international firms, Rothschild and HSBC, after graduating with honors from Bocconi University.

Marco Tosato is Senior Investment Manager at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, where he joined in June 2021. Before joining the Fondo Italiano team, Marco worked for almost two years at Boston Consulting Group, in the Private Equity practice, supporting primary Italian and international investment funds mainly in Due Diligence and post-acquisition value creation activities.
Marco started his career in the Corporate Finance division of Finanziaria Internazionale where he supported small and medium-sized companies in M&A transactions and debt restructuring for over one year. He then joined the investment team of Gradiente SGR, a company that manages Private Equity funds, where for about four years he followed buy-outs and development capital transactions of Italian small cap companies in different sectors including food, fashion and industrial. Marco holds a degree cum laude in Economics and Finance from the University of Padua and an MBA from INSEAD.

He joined the FICC fund in July 2020 after an experience in the FITEC Fund.  Previously, he worked in the Corporate Finance division of KPMG, where he was involved in corporate valuations and preparation of business plans for Italian banks. He holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance from LUISS with honours, and a master's degree in Global Finance from Fordham University in New York.
